Some Small Business Stats

  1. Decline in small business owners' expectations about revenue growth, the general economy, and hiring = 10%.
  2. Growth rate of the number of women-owned businesses between 1997 and 2002 = 20%.
  3. Growth rate of the number of businesses owned by Hispanics in the U.S. between 1997 and 2002 = 31%.
  4. Growth rate of the number of firms owned by black Americans between 1997 and 2002 = 45%.
  5. Percentage of women business owners who are willing to take above average or substantial risks when investing for their businesses in 2005 = 66%.
  6. Percentage of inner city jobs held with small businesses in 2005 = 80%.
