Texas Tech Gets Alternative Energy Grant

U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison wants the U.S. to aim for energy independence, and came to this West Texas city to announce $1.5 million in funding for Texas Tech to study wind energy. The research money for the school’s Center for Wind Science comes from appropriations Congress included in an energy bill passed earlier this year that made alternative energy sources a priority.
