Your Living Connected Economy

Care about your local economy. See it as a living system; for surely it is just that. Your economy is not dead lifeless matter. Don't give into the materialist philosophers among you who say there is just inert lifeless matter in life. That is simply not so.

And guess what, that is why manufacturing, as the primary economic engine for producing "things," is suffering so much right now. Someone needs to remind manufacturers that the matter they touch and shape is quite alive.

Your local economy is alive with people, ideas, hopes, dreams, fears, rivers, mountains, forests, and much more. Everything in life is connected to everything else in one way or another. Don't fear the world's complexity. Embrace it. Be willing to accept greater responsibility for your role in the larger scheme of things in life.

Don't wait too long to see the connections. We bankrupt ourselves in life when we allow our thoughts of separateness to keep us from what is truly most important: being in the flow of life.

The world's worst problems stem from "disconnection." Don't allow your community and its economic base to suffer because of something so simple as a thought of separateness. Believe in your connectedness and work toward it.
