Another Regional Example

A group of regional economic development organizations has received funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce to complete development of a comprehensive strategy for the Portland-Vancouver, Wash., area. The group is currently developing work plans around four industry clusters: silicon (semiconductors & photovoltaic); micro- and nanotechnologies; cyber-security; and metals and transportation equipment.
